THE HEADTEACHER’S CREDIT VALUES AWARD WAS PRESENTED TO ALEX JONES, FAYE HANKIN AND POPPY SUMNER IN YEAR 13

The three students were nominated by Mrs Byrom and Mr Hedley who said: “Alex, Faye and Poppy went above and beyond last week, showing incredible maturity and level headedness. They witnessed a car accident outside school and acted quickly and calmly to call the emergency services and to reassure a lady who was trapped in her car. We received a lovely email from the daughter-in-law of the lady involved, saying how grateful she was. She said, “They remained calm, chatting to her, reassuring her whilst addressing the situation with the emergency services. They behaved impeccably- just wonderful kind girls!!”
By chance I drove past and took over from them, but I was so grateful that they were there. They behaved with empathy and calmness whilst all the time being very assertive.
They are a credit to themselves, their parents, the school and college and the community.”
