ParentPay

To reduce the amount of money held on school premises, ParentPay is our online payment service and the preferred method of payment for items such as dinner money and school trips. Using a secure website you are able to pay online using your credit/debit card or continue to make cash payments at local PayPoint convenience stores.

ParentPay is easy to use and offers the freedom to make payments whenever and wherever you like. Each student that joins Richmond School and Sixth Form College is provided with a unique username and password which you will be prompted to change upon initial login. If you have more than one child at our school, or children at other ParentPay schools, you can create a single account login for all your children. Once you have activated your account you can make online payments straight away.

Cashless Catering School

Richmond School and Sixth Form College operates a Cashless Catering School system which means that it is not possible for students to pay for their break-time snacks or lunches at the tills using cash. Payments for meals can all be made online using ParentPay or using the PayPoint facility. If you would prefer to continue to pay for school meals in cash, you can request a PayPoint Card from school and make payments via any PayPoint retailer nationwide. To search for your nearest PayPoint centre, please visit https://consumer.paypoint.com/ and enter your postcode.

Paypoint payments* are recorded alongside online payments in ParentPay, and account balances can be checked online in exactly the same way. (*Please allow up to 36 hours for your payment to be credited via the PayPoint network). Students can also dispense into revaluation machines located within school.

Free School Meals

Free school meals are available to students whose parents receive certain benefits.  Please visit the North Yorkshire County Council website, if you think that you may qualify for this support.

I am entitled to a free meal, how does it work?

Students in receipt of free school meals are given an allocation of £2.40 per day, which cannot be carried over, ie if it is not spent on a particular day, it effectively disappears. £2.40 is the price of a Meal Deal which incorporates a selected hot main course and dessert. Some students have a tendency to spend a large part of their daily allocation at break time, which leaves them little money for lunch. A daily limit can be set up on individual accounts to prevent overspending. Please contact the school if this is something you would like to consider. Alternatively, parents can top up their child’s account to ensure there is a buffer in the event that a child wants to spend more than £2.40 each day or, of course, a snack could be sent in from home for break-time.

School Trips and Visits

ParentPay has the added benefit of allowing parents/carers to pay securely for any trips or activities organised by the school.  This system ensures that students do not need to carry money with them, parents/carers have an accurate record of any monies paid, and the school does not need to collect or hold large sums of cash.

The school aims to communicate with parents/carers effectively and whenever possible electronically.  It has been recognised that a paper-based method is less efficient, both in terms of cost and a reliance on students to take information home.  Permission to participate in all school activities/ visits is made electronically via Evolve, our Educational Visit Notification and Approval System.  For those activities/ visits with an associated cost, consent without the accompanying payment will not enable your son/daughter to be considered for the activity/visit.  This is especially important for oversubscribed activities/visits.  If payment is unable to be made by the activity/ visit deadline, then parents/ carers should contact the school in advance of the closing date to discuss alternative arrangements.

ParentPay Shop

All Richmond School resources can now be purchased through our ParentPay Shop facility.

A username and password is not required to purchase items from the shop, and so can be used by the wider school community. Please select the items you wish to purchase and, when complete, click on the basket item to check out. In the payment screen it is essential to include your child’s full name and year/tutor so that we are able to identify who the items have been purchased for.

Once payment notification has been received, the school will process your order and your son/ daughter can collect his/her orderfrom the School Library. Please allow one working day for orders to be processed.
