SPRING LEAVERS CONCERT – FAREWELL TO NINE YEAR 13 MUSICIANS

Just before Easter, one of the most significant milestones in Richmond School and Sixth Form College’s calendar was reached – the Spring Leavers Concert. This concert is designed to showcase the hard work and talents of our Year 13 musicians, some of whom have been at Richmond for seven years, as well as wishing them all the best for their futures. It also provides a chance to hear our brilliant music ensembles in full voice, as they work their way through a varied and challenging repertoire.
Mr Boyd, Lead Teacher of Music, had this to say about the concert: “What an unforgettable night we had! We were absolutely blown away by the ability, passion, and dedication that each and every student brought to the stage during last term’s Spring Leavers Concert. From the very first note to the final bow, the energy was electric, and the performances were nothing short of spectacular.
The students’ hard work in rehearsals truly paid off, and it was inspiring to see how much heart they put into every piece. Whether part of the band, orchestra, solo acts, or behind-the-scenes helping things run smoothly — everyone made the night a success!
We also want to thank our amazing music staff and volunteers who supported our students every step of the way. And to the families and friends who came out to cheer them on, your support means the world.
This concert was more than just a performance — it was a celebration of creativity, teamwork, and community. We’re so proud of what they’ve accomplished, and we can’t wait to see (and hear!) what they do next.”
Nine Year 13 students are leaving us this year and Mr Boyd duly celebrated their contribution to music at Richmond in the now time honoured way – by presenting them each with a coveted mug!
The nine Year 13 students are: Philippa Kind, Will Hume, Andrew Lunn, Nathan Wilson, Thomas Pyrah, Elsa Wright, Noah Boyd, Tom Grigg and Jacob Wharton.
