RICHMOND STUDENTS IMPRESS AT AREA SWIMMING GALA 

Earlier this week, 25 Richmond School and Sixth Form College students made the trip to Bedale to compete in the annual Secondary Area Swimming Gala. 

The level of competition was high but as usual, Richmond students did their very best, earning 4th place overall. 

Richmond’s category placings were as follows: 

Junior girls 6th 

Junior boys 2nd 

Inter girls 5th 

Inter boys 3rd 

Senior girls 4th 

Senior boys 3rd 

Mr Westgate, PE teacher at Richmond, who accompanied the team to Bedale, commented: “A really good team effort – well done to all athletes for taking part and doing your best. Oliver Hart, Year 9 student, deserves a special mention for swimming in the Senior boys category (Years 11-13) competing against some very strong senior swimmers and holding his own.”
