LUNCHTIME LEGEND RETIRES!

Mrs Potter, Headteacher, provides a look back at recently retired Karen Myers’ time of exceptional service and dedication at Richmond School:

“Another ‘Legend of Richmond School’ hung up her whistle and her hi-vis jacket for the final time last week. Karen Myers, our long-serving mid-day supervisor has finally decided to take things a bit more slowly and retire.

Karen started work at Richmond School as a part-time cleaner ‘decades ago’ and over the years has worked as a member of the catering staff and more recently as a mid-day supervisor. Karen’s commitment to the school, the staff and the students has been unwavering – she always worked with the same kind but firm approach, regardless of the weather, which was frequently unkind!

At our 2024 Year 11 Prom, Karen was voted ‘Kindest Teacher’ by the students. Unsurprisingly, Karen was always so popular with the students because her way of managing them was always perfect!

We will really miss Karen – she was a much-loved colleague and will always remain a true friend to the school community.  We wish her the happiest of retirements.”
