YOUNG SPORTS LEADERS PRAISED FOR DOING AN INCREDIBLE JOB AT FAST-PACED TAG RUGBY TOURNAMENT

23 March 2023  |  Jill Lundberg  |  Posted in: ,

A fun-filled tag rugby competition was attended by seven local primary schools. Our Young Sports Leaders officiated at the event after receiving training from Year 13 student Alana Teasdale. Alana plays rugby for the Wensleydale Heifers at Wensleydale Rugby Club and is studying a range of A-levels, including CTEC Sport.

Alana ran a practical coaching session on how to referee the game fairly but firmly. The Young Leaders, Joshua, Emmy, Isaac, Josie, Faith, Georgina, Freya, Will, Jackson, Henry and Charlotte  who range from Year 7 to 9 did a fantastic job in such a fast- paced tournament. Mr Firmin, from Brompton-on Swale Primary School, gave them special thanks after the presentation as he recognised how difficult the role of a referee is but stated that they did an incredible job.

Thank you to Barton, Bolton-on-Swale, Brompton-on-Swale, Croft, Ravensworth, Richmond Methodist and Richmond St Mary’s for supporting the event.
