Year 9 Sports Leaders officiate at Primary Tag Rugby Festival

04 March 2020  |  Jill Lundberg  |  Posted in: , ,

Richmond School recently hosted the Richmond Area Tag Rugby competition for pupils in Years 5 and 6. Nine teams/schools from around the local area competed which meant approximately 100 pupils were taking part. Congratulations to Brompton-on-Swale Primary School for finishing first and second in the competition and therefore qualifying for the Area final on Tuesday 24th March 2020.

The event was supported by Year 9 students at Richmond School studying a CTEC Sport course. They have spent the last few months being trained by Richmond School and Rugby Football Union staff to develop them as young Rugby officials. These pupils are just starting their sports leadership journey and despite Rugby being a very fast paced game to officiate, they made an excellent start. Congratulations to the six students involved; Jacob Dunn, Fin Tulip, Joe Syddall, Alex Nimmo, Jake Percival and Anthony Edwards.
