Year 9 footballers draw 2:2 in the area cup

The Year 9s had a thrilling game against Thirsk in the Area Cup which finished 2-2.
Thirsk started well with a cross from Justin to Alasdair who finished nicely to lead 1-0. Soon after, Thirsk equalised with a very well taken goal from their midfielder. Just before half time, Ollie Rogerson’s free kick hit the crossbar ending the half 1-1.
In the second half, Thirsk got a free kick which hit the post and was turned in on the rebound make it 2-1. With 15 minutes to go, a great through ball to Alex Connelly left him one on one with the keeper and he turned it in. 2-2. In the last 5 minutes, both teams had chances to take the victory with the best chance coming when Alex Connelly crossed the ball in to Justin Hepper who just knocked the ball over the bar.
