Year 9 dancers have delivered exceptional work after taking part in a challenge over the last two weeks of term, to encourage them to step away from the laptops and do what they do best! Please make sure you watch the Year 9 Time To Shine VIDEO to see the dancers in action and for the winners to be announced.
Mrs O’Malley ran the competition to stimulate and motivate the students who have been missing their dance lessons in school and have become fatigued during the lockdown. The project aimed to inspire and energise them, providing a much-needed boost to engage them and develop their creativity, resilience and independence.
Mrs O’Malley said: “The students didn’t disappoint, delivering impressive results. We have been blown away by the efforts they have gone to in order to meet the brief for the challenge. They have made us so proud and it was a very difficult decision to choose the winners of the three categories – Best Choreography, Best Performance and Best varied use of skills.
“We cannot wait to get back into the studio with them all. Well done to all those who entered and prizes will be sent out soon to the winners. Mrs Fox and I wish you a well-earned and wonderful summer holiday!”
