YEAR 9 CRICKET TEAM PROGRESS TO PRESTIGIOUS YORKSHIRE CUP FINAL

10 July 2024  |  Sven Wardle  |  Posted in: ,

Recently, Richmond School’s Year 9 cricket team made it to the Yorkshire Cup Final by overcoming Bradford Grammar School in a tight semi-final at Richmondshire CC.

Batting first, Richmond posted a very competitive 155-6, with Will Fudali continuing his rich vein of form for the school top scoring with 77.

In reply Bradford Grammar started strongly, but the introduction of Ollie Taylor in the 12th over changed the match. Ollie bowled 4 overs and claimed 4 key wickets for the cost of just 22 runs. This spell turned the match in Richmond’s favour as Bradford were finally bowled out in the final over for 138.

This is the second time in three years that the Year 9 team have reached the prestigious Yorkshire Cup Final and when they return to school after the summer break they will travel to West Yorkshire to play Shelley College.
