YEAR 8 STUDENTS COMPETE IN CROSS-TRUST PHYSICS AND ENGINEERING COMPETITION
Eleven Richmond School Year 8 students recently travelled to Stokesley School to take part in the inaugural cross-trust physics and engineering competition, organised by Mrs Hope, science teacher at Stokesley.
The competition was supported by the Ogden Trust Partnership, which aims to promote collaboration between schools in the Areté Learning Trust to enhance the teaching and learning of Physics, inspiring students to take the subject further as they progress through their education.
Students took part in a number of challenges throughout the day, including ‘How can I step through a piece of paper?’, making an informative poster on climate change and building and testing a solar powered car.
All students had an excellent day, positively engaging with all the activities and taking the opportunity to interact with students from the other trust schools.
Students who took part were:
Amelia Alderson, Maya Grant, Charlie Hawkes, Ruby Helliar, Zackary Howells, Abigail Leighton, Eva Noone, Alice Rhodes, Jessica Senior, Anya Wardman, Chloe Wilford
