YEAR 8 NETBALLERS BATTLE BRILLIANTLY IN TOUGH 8-GAME TOURNAMENT

Richmond School recently hosted an U13 Area Netball Tournament involving eight other schools from the local area. Mrs Southgate, coach and manager of the squad, provides this report:

“Our Year 8 netballers were out in action earlier this week on a chilly, slightly damp January day against eight other schools from the area.

With eight games back-to-back and not much rest in between, their fitness and determination were really put to the test. The team rose to the challenge, however, and put in some great performances against some tough opposition.

Stokesley (as we have come to expect!) dominated the tournament with impressive performances and high scorelines in most of their games but all other games produced fairly close scorelines and could have gone either way.

The girls worked fantastically together as a team, encouraging and supporting each other throughout. An impressive display of the school CREDIT values from our Year 8 team – well done girls!”

Results:

Richmond 5 – 8 Queen Mary’s School

Richmond 7 – 0 Northallerton

Richmond 2 – 4 Cundall Manor A

Richmond 2 – 4 Thirsk

Richmond 6 – 1 Cundall Manor B

Richmond 3 – 3 SFX

Richmond 0 – 13 Stokesley

Richmond 1 – 1 Easingwold
