Congratulations to Risedale, Richmond, Wensleydale and Mowbray Schools for participating in the first-ever Archery, Kurling and Boccia Competition. Pupils in Year 7 competed in all of the sports to gain points for their team. The aim of the event was to provide pupils with a positive, new sporting experience and the cheers throughout the morning definitely gave evidence for this.
The event was supported by the Year 12 CTEC Sport leaders at Richmond Sixth Form College. These student leaders performed incredibly and received a wealth of positive feedback including the quote below from Mr Craggs at Risedale School: “I just wanted to pass on my sincere thanks for inviting us to the event today, it was great fun and all of our pupils really enjoyed themselves and they are so proud of their medals.
“Please also pass on my sincerest thanks and well done to your Sixth Form students. They were a credit to you and the way they helped and spoke to our pupils was phenomenal to see! Your students were so helpful and represented Richmond Sixth Form brilliantly and it was good to see how respectful and well organised they were.”
The results of the event are as follows:
1st – Risedale B with 404 points
2nd – Wensleydale with 391 points
3rd – Richmond with 379 points
4th – Mowbray with 376 points
5th – Risedale A with 361 points
Congratulations to all schools for some excellent performances
