YEAR 13 STUDENTS RECEIVE INSIGHT INTO ENGINEERING APPLICATIONS

It is always a great pleasure to welcome our alumni back to Richmond School and Sixth Form College, whether they attended very recently, or in the distant past! Our current students can learn so much from their experiences, especially in terms of the world of work and the application process – whether for university or employment.

We were delighted to welcome Benji Appleby back to the Sixth Form College recently.

Since he left, he has graduated from Durham University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and is now working as a Mechanical Design Engineer at a company called Electroimpact.

Benji met with some of our current Year 13 students and shared his experience of studying engineering and university life at Durham.

Charlie Smith, one of the students who talked with Benji, said: “It was very informative and interesting to find out about the structure of the engineering undergraduate course at Durham. The support you get from the collegiate system at Durham is a special feature”.

We look forward to catching up with Benji in the future and finding out about his journey in a bit more detail!
