Year 13 Geographers have undertaken several investigations around the North of England ranging from Arkengarthdale to Guisborough and Redcar. The investigations were designed and developed to allow the students to collect their own fieldwork data which will be used in their non-examined assessment later this year.
Following Mrs House and Mr Hedley’s demonstration of data collection techniques at the first sites, students then worked in small groups to collect their own data. Upon returning to college, the data will be presented, analysed and evaluated independently in a 4,000 word report, which will be assessed and will contribute 20% towards their final A-level grade.
All the students were an absolute credit to both the Geography department and Richmond School and Sixth Form College.
