A group of Year 10 English students enjoyed creating their own poem to celebrate the recent National Poetry Day. The students were given the theme of ‘Hindsight’ and asked to write a poem exploring a character who is reflecting on their choices and where their choices have led them. We hope you enjoy two of the students’ poems – ‘Shadows in my mind’, by Jesse Hankin and ‘The Feast’, by John Shanley.
Miss Manning, English teacher, said: “I was really impressed with how quickly the students got to grips with the theme and the quality of the poems they were able to produce in only an hour.”
