Year 10 CTEC Sport students start their journey as sports leaders

04 October 2021  |  Jill Lundberg  |  Posted in: ,

Congratulations to the 32 Year 10 students studying CTEC Sport who have started their journey as sports leaders. The students have been exploring the characteristics of good sports leadership in lesson time and then put this to the test by leading at a Key Stage 1 multi skills festival. This is the first face-to-face event that we have run since the Covid pandemic hit and the leaders contributed to making it a huge success.

The leaders took charge of 200 primary pupils aged between 4-6 from nine of our local Primary Schools including: Barton, Bolton, Croft, Ravensworth, Michael Syddal, Richmond Methodist, Trinity Academy Richmond, Richmond St Mary’s and Sacred Heart Northallerton. They coached them in a range of running, jumping and throwing multi-skill activities. The primary schools have been very generous in the compliments for the leaders who have obviously made a great first impression. They received lots of positive feedback which will give them confidence as they continue in their role as sports leaders.
