Will and James make music to support children’s education in Zambia

10 November 2022  |  Jill Lundberg  |  Posted in: ,

Will Mawer and James Lunn headed to The Station where they busked on Sunday morning to the delight of visitors and staff. With Will on saxophone and James on guitar, the Year 13 students played a selection of jazz numbers, such as A Night in Tunisia, In a Sentimental Mood and When Sunny Gets Blue.

The students raised over £30  for the charity Literacy in a Box.  Literacy in a Box supports children’s education in Zambia by sending boxes of school resources to lead to uninterrupted educational progress. To date, 45 schools in Zambia have now received Literacy Boxes. You can find out more about the charity here at  or follow them on facebook.

Will and James said: “Literacy in a Box is a wonderful cause and it was great to have the opportunity to play some of our favourite pieces whilst raising money to support children in Zambia.  Thank you to everyone who donated and to The Station for being our hosts.”
