Great result for young chemists in Royal Society of Chemistry competition

Well done to Niamh (Year 11), Charlotte (Year 10), Emily (Year 9) and Catherine (Year 9) for competing in this year’s Top of the Bench Chemistry competition. Hosted at Teesside University, the competition included several rounds based on general chemistry knowledge and a practical laboratory session.

Kevin Sandell, Chemistry Teacher, said: “This was a great team effort against 15 other schools from across the North East and I am delighted to announce they came 3^rd overall. Well done team!”

Dr Mackinnon gave our team a special mention, saying: “You were consistent across all four rounds and were the only school to be 6^th or better in each round.”
