The North Yorkshire Soccer Academy Teams are being supported by a team of helpers, including Year 11 students Benjamin and Harry, who will accompany the players. They will play a vital role with the day-to-day running of the event and helping to motivate the young footballers. Benjamin, also a keen footballer, has previously played in the Barcelona International Cup and continues to play for TIBS Football Club, in Teesside.
Jenna Potter, headteacher, said: “To be selected to play in this high-profile cup is a huge achievement for the boys. It will be a fantastic experience for them, not only to play on an international field but to meet and engage with other students from all over the world. I am sure it will help develop their team-building skills and will be something they will always remember.”
