Seth was nominated by Mr Hedley who said: “I’d like to nominate Seth Brown in Year 10 – for determination. This week, we’ve hosted Seth in the Geography department as part of his work experience – even though he doesn’t even do GCSE Geography! We’ve taken him on board and we have all been absolutely thrilled with his contributions to both the department and the school. He has taken on the challenge and completed the following whilst being really positive and mature in his approach:
- Acted as a teaching assistant in lessons – speaking with students and supporting them with their work and acting as a scribe for one student;
- Delivered a lesson to Year 9 on issues associated with energy supply;
- Marked Year 8 assessments – grading answers and providing WWW/EBI feedback;
- Undertook various admin tasks (e.g. photocopying and preparing resources);
- Supported me with both the early and split lunch duties on Wednesday – including helping to keep the restaurant tidy and supervising the students;
- Ensured that everyone in the humanities office signed the leaving card for a member of staff – without her knowing.
Really chuffed with him. He’s been a real asset. I know he would have been quite nervous – particularly with the lesson and lunch duty, but he did an excellent job.
