THE HEADTEACHER’S CREDIT VALUES AWARD WAS PRESENTED TO COURTNEY APPLEYARD IN YEAR 8

Courtney was nominated by Mrs Foster who said: “Courtney is a driven young student, who does more than we ever ask of her. She started Year 7 as a student who lacked confidence and needed support in order to complete a task. However, through sheer hard work and determination, she has grown into a student who volunteers every answer and is willing to go out of her way to speak to me about the current topic I am teaching. The growth in confidence is purely down to Courtney’s desire to learn both inside and out of the classroom.

I see Courtney walking into school every morning with her twin brother, and she eagerly shouts ‘Hi Miss’ from across the school grounds, clearly excited to start her day at school. She is a student who embodies every school CREDIT value, but will silently sit below the radar. So many students would have given up in Year 7 when they found things tough, but Courtney used this to motivate herself and to build her own confidence and knowledge.”
