THE HEADTEACHER’S CREDIT VALUES AWARD WAS PRESENTED TO AMELIA MCCORMACK IN YEAR 9

Amelia was nominated by Ms Thornton who said: “I would like to nominate Amelia McCormack for the HTCVA as she is a student who absolutely demonstrates all the school values, all of the time.

She is an exceptional student who excels in both IT and Computer Science.

Throughout the IT topic of Graphics, Amelia showcased her creative flair alongside her technical skills, independently designing and creating to a very high standard.

I have often used her work as exemplar work to motivate the class.

We have moved onto a programming topic in Computer Science, which is very different and already Amelia is showing talent in this area. Her understanding means she manages to work through the tasks more quickly than the class and instead of waiting she challenges herself to try extended tasks independently – this takes a great deal of determination.

We don’t do much in the way of group work but Amelia is always happy to help other students to progress.

Amelia is just a lovely student, she always greets me with a smile and a ‘hello’, she listens carefully throughout STAR listening and always thanks me at the end of the lesson.

Amazingly, Amelia does all of this so humbly!  She has no ego or agenda, as I say – just a lovely, hardworking, respectful student.  I hope I am teaching her in Years 10 and 11 too!”
