TEAM SCARLETT ARE CROWNED GRAND CHAMPION CHEERLEADERS

06 February 2023  |  Jill Lundberg  |  Posted in: ,

We were thrilled to hear about our students who took part in the Legacy Cheerleading competition at the weekend.  Competing for Lazer Cheer in Colburn, students represented the Scarlett, Silver, Mint and Pink teams who were all placed in the rankings. Team Scarlett not only won the junior level 2 event but they were also crowned Grand Champions after gaining the highest score overall across all the competitions. Congratulations to Molly, Elle, Rose and Ava who were in Team Scarlett.

In addition, Lazer Mint came fourth in senior level 1, Lazer Silver came second in senior level 2, and Lazer Pink came second in co-ed level 4. Well done to all the students from Richmond School and Sixth Form College who competed and have been working so hard to perfect their routines.

The Lazer Cheer programme is directed and run by Chelsea Foreman, an alumna of Richmond School and Sixth Form College. Chelsea also coaches with Jaymie-Leigh Reynolds and former student Katie Wood. Mandy Foreman, director of Lazer Cheer said of Katie, who was a coach for the Scarlett and Pink teams: “Katie is a phenomenal choreographer. The ideas that she comes up with just make these routines amazing.”

The competition was hosted at Northumbria University on Saturday and Sunday with the Legacy judges flying in from Texas.
