SUCCESS FOR CHARLOTTE IN POLICE CADETS AND NATIONAL TEAMGYM EVENT

Charlotte Morris, in Year 11, joined the Police Cadets in September 2021, when they relaunched the enrolment after COVID and her experiences so far have made her even more determined to become a Police Officer. Charlotte has been set on this career path since she was young and would eventually like to be a Traffic Officer in the Roads Policing Group.

Charlotte’s achievement in the Police Cadets was recognised recently with an attestation ceremony, when Rishi Sunak presented the certificates.

As well as being committed to the Police Cadets, Charlotte also devotes a huge amount of time to gymnastics, demonstrating how her busy lifestyle is building foundations for her future. Unfortunately, the last year has been eventful for injuries, halting Charlotte’s gymnastics progress. However, she has worked hard to overcome these and together with her team of 11 other gymnasts from Richmondshire Gymnastics Club, Charlotte recently attended the English Championships for TeamGym, to compete against other teams across England and Scotland. This is the highest competition level that Charlotte has ever entered. The team did amazingly well, with medals throughout each age category. Charlotte and her team were able to secure Bronze.

Charlotte’s coach, Rebecca Clay, said: “We were immensely proud all of the gymnasts . They commit many hours to training and have to balance the demands of this with managing their school work. Entering this level of competition has placed extra workload and they have coped tremendously.”
