Students receive impressive feedback for their Green Plan It project
Three representatives from the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) received a warm welcome at school when they met with five budding gardeners! A team of five Year 8 students took part in the RHS’ Green Plan It project to research, plan, design and build a model garden. Darragh Lyons, Hannah Slater, Ella McArdle, Niamh Hyman and Jacob Wharton attended the launch of the project, at the stunning Harlow Carr Gardens, where they learnt about plants and how they could consider using them when designing a green space at school or within their local community.
Following this event, the students worked tirelessly on their design, creating a storyboard about their research and proposal, as well as creating a fantastic model to depict the garden.
Unfortunately, the students were unable to attend the celebration event but they were delighted when the RHS assessors offered to visit them at school. They presented their garden model and findings and received glowing feedback on how impressive their report was. The green-fingered students were a credit to the school.
