A group of 16 Year 12 students attended a workshop run by the Oxford and Cambridge University liaison teams. The event was led by Joe Organ, liaison officer at Brasenose College, Oxford and Liza Zhabina, liaison officer at St Catherine’s College, Cambridge and five students who are currently studying at Oxford and Cambridge. Our students had the opportunity to hear about life at Oxbridge and other Russell Group Universities. They also took part in a lively Q and A session which they found most helpful.
Ms Johnson said: “This was a great opportunity for our students to gain some insights into academic life at top-flight universities. We really appreciate the time and effort given by the liaison teams from Oxford and Cambridge making the journey especially to visit us in North Yorkshire.”
Dom Galloway, Year 12, said: “The visit was an informative experience about life at uni. Learning about the application process in more depth was very helpful and I feel more comfortable and prepared for applying. We also heard about social life at uni, something which is not often talked about. It has helped me to understand that studying at one of these universities is now attainable for someone like me.”
