STUDENTS LEAD MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS WEEK ASSEMBLIES

13 May 2022  |  Jill Lundberg  |  Posted in: ,

A group of four student leaders led assemblies in school for all year groups this week, as part of National Mental Health Awareness Week. Grace, in Year 11, Sophie, in Year 10, and Hayden and Leona in Year 8, talked to all year groups about friends.  They discussed what makes a good friend and to be aware of the difference between fake and real friends.  Grace said: “We were very pleased to have the opportunity to talk to all the students and we hope that by listening to those of their own age that they could relate to the issues we were presenting.”

Mr Braham and Mrs Weston also spoke to students about how we communicate, bullying and loneliness.

You can see the full assembly here.

Mrs Weston said: “Grace, Sophie, Hayden and Leona did a fabulous job during the assemblies this week and their message really resonated with the students.”
