STUDENTS FIND OUT ABOUT CAREERS OPPORTUNITIES IN THE ROYAL AIR FORCE
We were delighted to welcome Flight Lieutenant Jim Tait back to school. Following his visit in October, when Jim spoke to a small group of sixth form students, he returned to meet with 22 Year 10 and Year 11 students who are interested in a career with the RAF. Jim works for the RAF Recruitment and Engagement team and has a huge amount of experience working in the RAF so is perfectly placed to speak to students about the broad range of careers available and the different routes to apply. Jim spoke about what inspired him to join the RAF and the roles he has worked in during his career. The students were very engaged and asked a lot of questions about life in the RAF and what to expect.
Ruth Hamer, Careers Adviser, said: “We really appreciated Jim visiting us for a second time and it was a fantastic opportunity for our Year 10 and 11 students to hear first-hand about the many roles available in the RAF. It is incredibly important for us to bring careers to life for the students – to meet with employers and employees at school really gives them a chance to gain an insight into opportunities for their futures.”
