SPORTS LEADERS PLAN AND RUN A VERY COLOURFUL EVENT FOR PRIMARY STUDENTS

A group of 20 key stage 3 Leaders have undertaken a number of sports leadership training sessions throughout the year which have aimed to develop their knowledge of the skills and qualities required to be a successful sports leader.

The students have also taken several opportunities to put their leadership skills to the test by volunteering to help at a range of primary school sports events. This training has culminated with the students planning and delivering a multi-sport festival and colour run for pupils in Years 5 and 6. The students planned all elements of the festival, from registering the pupils on arrival, planning their games, delivering a fun and fair session and leading presentations.

The event proved to be incredibly fun for both the primary pupils as well as the KS3 Sports Leaders and we hope it will be the first of many events that the students  can go on to plan and lead.
