Sixth Form geographers go out in the field

Our Year 13 Geographers went out in the field to undertake several investigations around the North of England, ranging from Hornsea to Redcar, Arkengarthdale to Guisborough. The investigations were designed and developed to allow the students to collect their own fieldwork data which will be used in their non-examined assessment later this year.
Following Mrs House and Mr Hedley’s demonstration of data collection techniques at the first sites, students then worked in small groups to collect their own data. Upon returning to school, the data, will be presented, analysed and evaluated independently in a 4,000 word report, which will be assessed and contribute 20% towards their final A-level grade.
All the students were an absolute credit to both the Geography department and Richmond Sixth Form College.
