Shiver me timbers – don’t miss the Pirate Treasure Hunt!

In the market for a new cutlass? But don’t know how to pick it? Our directory ‘Swords and Sabres’ could prove just the ticket!
Hidden in different sections of the library are 12 gold doubloons, with a letter on each one. By consulting the pirate treasure map and solving a series of riddles, students must track down the doubloons and put the letters together to identify a pirate-related phrase.
Everyone who correctly cracks the code will be entered into a draw and one person will win a Horrible Histories Pirates book.
Entry forms are available from the library. The closing date is Thursday 20th October 2022.
Ms Farquhar, librarian, said: “Many of our students enjoy a challenge – particularly when there’s a prize! But this is also a great way for them to familiarise themselves with the layout of the library and to learn where to find books on all different subjects. While searching for the doubloons, we hope students will see books that spark their interest and that will encourage them to expand their reading horizons.”
