SERVICE STUDENTS VISITED BY ENGAGEMENT OFFICER TO DISCUSS STUDENT VOICE INITIATIVE

17 October 2024  |  Sven Wardle  |  Posted in: ,

Mrs Cheesbrough, Richmond School and Sixth Form College’s Service Children’s Advocate, recently held a meeting to discuss what sounds like an excellent initiative to allow the voices of our brilliant service students to be heard a little louder.

She had this report from the meeting: “Mrs Cheesbrough and several service students kicked off the first of hopefully many Service Student Voice sessions.

We were fortunate to be joined Stacey Smith, Youth Voice and Engagement Officer for Richmond and Hambleton Council. Our first session focused on getting to know each other and a chat about what a Student Council entails.

Students went away excited to come up with ideas and suggestions for positive changes they’d like to see in school and their community.

Watch this space for more sessions, we are hoping for it to become a fortnightly group after half term!”

Thanks to Mrs Cheesbrough for organising the meeting, to Stacey for taking the time to visit and especially to the students for coming up with some excellent ideas:

Sabrina Schutte, Connor Roulston, Kendall Roway, Kezia Roway, Ruby Davies, Evie Macy and Kujay Kambi.
