RICHMOND SCHOOL STUDENTS CELEBRATE SUCCESS WITH RICHMOND TOWN FC U14S LEAGUE WINNING SQUAD
As well as the wide variety of sporting opportunities in school, many of our students are actively involved in sport in the local community.
We love hearing about the successes of our students and if news comes in we will try our best to celebrate it. We recently heard from Ericka Brain, who told us about the success of Richmond Town FC’s U14 team:
“Eleven Richmond School Year 9 students, along with their teammates, finished their football season in style by winning the league.
Jude Bartley, Jack Sutherland, Ollie Taylor, Teddy Brain, Calum Dent, Alfie Pattinson, Cassius Green, Mansoor Al-Barghooth, Will James, Lars Bryan and Luke Ewart all play for Richmond Town FC.
They secured a 5-0 win in the last game of the season, making sure the title was sealed for Richmond Town U14s. Captained by Teddy Brain, many of the boys have been playing together since they were six years old which made this achievement extra special.
They will attend the Teesside Junior Football Alliance (TJFA) presentation evening on 29th May at Middlesbrough Town Hall to accept their winners trophy.”
The team have since attended the presentation evening – see pictures.
Thanks to Ericka for telling us about this brilliant success!
We are absolutely sure that there are other Richmond School students who have had success with Richmond Town FC over the past season – we just haven’t been told about them! If you have any other stories of success, either about Richmond Town FC or anything else, please send them to swardle@arete.uk and we will do our best to celebrate them.
