Michael Syddall Primary School girls’ football team were nominated for the English Schools FA ‘Reward and Recognition’ Award by Mr. Saunders, deputy headteacher at the school.
The team were shortlisted and it went to a public vote against 5 other teams from across the country, some secondary school teams including boys teams. They won it, to the surprise and delight of the team and school!
Mr. Saunders contacted Mrs. Carruthers, Richmond School’s Games Organiser, and said:
“Just wanted to let you know about the award and to say thank you for all that you do for us and the opportunities you provide. We wouldn’t be able to do it without you.”
Well done to both the Michael Syddall girls’ football team, and also Mrs. Carruthers and the team of Sports Leaders for providing such excellent sporting opportunities for our local primary schools.
