Richmond School and Sixth Form College students delighted the attendees of the Mayor’s Charity dinner recently. The dinner was to raise money for the Mayor’s charities and culminated with an auction of promises. Catering was provided by a Syrian refugee who has relocated to Richmond.
Our reduced size Jazz Band, featuring students from our A Level Music classes, provided music throughout the evening. The students enjoyed the experience of playing to a more intimate audience. The patrons certainly enjoyed their music as collectively they donated over £300 to the Band and Orchestra’s upcoming tour to Germany in July.
The following week, Mr Boyd, Lead Teacher for Music at Richmond School and Sixth Form College, appeared at the Richmond Town Council Donations Committee meeting, requesting support for the Germany tour. The committee have since made a very kind and welcome donation to the tour of £250. We are very grateful for the support we receive from our local community.
