The quartet will perform an exhilarating and eclectic concert including works by Purcell, Glass, McCartney and Joy Division!
The concert will also include a piece performed by the quartet and students from Richmond School Wind section.
Doors open at 6.30pm and all are welcome.
The Guardian has called the quartet “One of Europe’s most distinguished new music ensembles.”
Here’s a little more information about them:
The Delta Saxophone Quartet – ‘40 Roaring Years’ of uplifting performance & creativity.
In September 1983 four young Guildhall School of Music & Drama students formed a saxophone quartet which in 1984 became The Delta Saxophone Quartet.
40 years later the quartet is still passionate about live performance and stretching the musical boundaries of a chamber music group. Forming innovative partnerships with contemporary composers, promoters and record labels the quartet has created a worldwide reputation for its dynamic live concerts, workshops and its catalogue of groundbreaking recordings.
This is a not-to-be missed opportunity. One of the best contemporary music ensembles in Europe performing on our doorstep, collaborating with Richmond School and Sixth Form College students – and entry is free!
