Rapid response to support humanitarian aid in Ukraine

08 March 2022  |  Jill Lundberg  |  Posted in: ,

Thank you to our Sixth Form students who within two days of being asked donated a huge amount of supplies to support the Ukraine appeal.  The collection was prompted by a request from the local group of the Soroptimists who some of our Year 12 students are working with.

The donations include baby food, tinned food, medical and sanitary supplies, nappies and baby wipes. Cllr Angie Dale is helping to coordinate the appeal and all donations from the community groups, members of the public, schools and other organisations will go to the Ukraine via Poland. At least ten vans full of items needed by refugees will leave Colburn today.

Les Richardson, Head of Sixth Form said: “What a fabulous and rapid response to this appeal – donations have flooded in over the last 48 hours. I have been really overwhelmed by the generosity of our students, parents, carers and staff to support the appeal for humanitarian aid in Ukraine.”
