Richmond School hosted a QuickSticks Hockey tournament for pupils in Years 3/4 and Years 5/6 recently.
The event was supported by Sports Leaders from Year 9 and 10 at Richmond School who have been attending an after school Sports Leadership Club on Mondays. The leaders volunteer their own time every week to develop their abilities in all aspects of sports leadership so that they can then support the numerous sporting events that the Richmondshire Sports Partnership provide.
Many thanks to all of the schools for supporting the event:
Bolton on Swale, Brompton on Swale, Croft, Great Smeaton, Michael Syddall, Ravensworth, Richmond Methodist and Richmond St Marys.
Many schools brought multiple teams. This meant that the teams were put into groups with all pupils playing each team in their group. The top teams from each group then progressed to a semi-final and then ultimately a final. Special congratulations to the following teams for achieving 1st and 2nd place in their competition:
Year 3/4 Competition: 1st place – Ravensworth
Year 3/4 Competition: 2nd place – Brompton on Swale
Year 5/6 Competition: 1st place – Brompton on Swale
Year 5/6 Competition: 2nd place – Ravensworth
