PRIMARY SCHOOL PUPILS SHOW INGENUITY, CREATIVITY AND TEAMWORK AT ANNUAL LEGO COMPETITION

09 July 2024  |  Sven Wardle  |  Posted in: , ,

Earlier on this term, Richmond School once again opened their doors to local primary schools to compete in their annual Lego Competition.

Five schools were in attendance and each comprised two teams. One set of teams were challenged with a creative task whereby they had to design, build and ultimately perform a story with Lego using the title, “As if by Magic”.

Meanwhile, the second set of teams had to construct a Lego robot. This then had to be programmed to navigate around a challenging obstacle course that had been designed by a group of Year 7 helpers who were on hand to assist the primary pupils with both challenges throughout the day.

In the creative task it was Ravensworth that emerged victorious, while Richmond Methodist narrowly outperformed Trinity in the robot task. The Richmond School staff also awarded additional Teamwork prizes for St. Mary’s and North and South Cowton, who demonstrated a great team ethos throughout the day.

Thank you to Mrs Collier and Mr Wigley for organising and supervising the event.

We look forward to hosting the competition again next summer!
