‘PREMIER LEAGUE INSPIRES’ SOCIAL ACTION CHALLENGE CELEBRATION EVENT

13 July 2023  |  Sven Wardle  |  Posted in: , ,

Richmond School Y9 students reached the regional finals of the ‘Premier League Inspires’ Social Action Event and were invited to present their idea to the Premier League and the other schools that had reached the final.

Their brilliant idea that addressed sustainability at Middlesbrough FC, and also gave people the opportunity to recycle their old football boots, was to set up a ‘Bootplant’ room where donated football boots could be used as planters to make a green space filled with plants. Any boots in good enough condition could be passed on to those unable to afford new ones.

The students had the opportunity to have photos taken with the Premier League Trophy and had a Q&A session with the trophy ambassadors.

They then watched the films put together by themselves and other schools about their sustainability projects. The students were also treated to a tour of the Riverside Stadium.

Well done to the students: Lily Mae, Emmee May, Josh , Ashley and Rory.

Thanks also to Ms Lambert and Mr. Coldwell for organising the trip.
