News from Pasch and the Goethe Institut
Students from 8 Spittlehouse have been involved in the first testing of a prototype for a new language learning app called The Knights of the European Grail. The students gave invaluable feedback to the developers and as a school we look forward to testing further developments of the app over the next three years.
Two of our A-level students, Patrick Carlton, in Year 13, and Evie Farnell, in Year 12, successfully gained places on one of the Goethe Institut’s summer courses. The course was run online again this year and students from Pasch schools across the globe come together to learn German and to work on a joint project together.
Evie said: “The Goethe Institut digital course I did over the summer was such a good two weeks. It involved being put into groups and learning about the environment and ways we could become more environmentally friendly. It was really interesting, as our group had lots of people from different countries, including some countries in Africa (such as Togo), so we gained an insight into how they recycle and also opinions from all around the world. The course was completely run in German and it has made me more confident to speak in German about topics such as sustainability for the future, and has furthered my learning of the language.”
