We were delighted to host the finals of the boys’ primary football tournament for the Bedale, Catterick, Richmond and Wensleydale areas. All the teams taking part qualified after finishing in the top two of their local football competitions. Both events were organised and led by our year 11 students and ran very smoothly. Qualifying schools for the morning competition for Years 3 and 4 students included: Brompton, Michael Syddall, Bedale, Burneston, Leyburn, BAWB (Bainbridge, Askrigg and West Burton), Le Cateau and Carnagill.
Teams were placed into two groups where they played every other team in their group. The top two teams from each group then qualified for a semi-final. The semi-finalists were:
Bedale V BAWB
Michael Syddall V Leyburn
Bedale and Leyburn won their semi-finals and faced each other in a very close final. Leyburn were the eventual winners of the tournament.
The qualifying schools for the afternoon competition for Years 5 and 6 students were: Croft, Michael Syddall, Bedale, Crakehall, Leyburn, BAWB (Bainbridge, Askrigg and West Burton), Le Cateau and Carnagill
The semi finalists were:

Michael Syddall and Leyburn won their semi-finals and faced each other in a very closely-fought final. Michael Syddall won the tournament.
Congratulations to the Years 3 and 4 students from Leyburn and the Michael Syddall’s Year 5 and 6 students.
