Leeds can wait – Tommy puts work before university
We are delighted to share this news feature in today’s Northern Echo about former student Tommy Callender – You may remember Tommy from an article this time last year when we reported that following his Year 12 work experience at Harris Irwin Architects he had impressed the company so much that they offered him a gap-year job before heading off to university to study architecture.
It’s great to hear that Tommy is now working for Harris Irwin to gain valuable hands-on experience before taking up his place at Leeds University next year.
Ms Mannion, careers leader, said: “This opportunity with Harris Irwin highlights the importance of work experience and how it can inspire students. We wish Tommy every success with his role this year and his future university studies.”
