Keeping the family tradition at Swale Scaffolding

Tyler Straub started his apprenticeship with Swale Scaffolding last year and is working in a team alongside his Grandad, Keith ‘Butch’ Barker.  Paul Ward, Managing Director at Swale Scaffolding, said: “Butch is an Advanced Scaffolder, aged 67 years old, with over 50 years of experience within the scaffolding industry. Tyler is progressing extremely well under the tutelage of his grandad – this truly is a great example of the Old Bull teaching the Young Bull, they are both fantastic members of our team.

“I am delighted with the progress of the four apprentices and am most impressed with the quality of their work. They are great lads who quickly became valued members of our team. They are all eager to learn their trade and develop their skills. I’m very proud of our long-standing partnership with Richmond School and the exceptional careers support they offer their students. It is our intention to have an intake from Richmond School every year moving forwards. Here at Swale Scaffolding, we fully acknowledge that the life blood of any company is the youth coming in at the bottom end and them being nurtured to progress and develop their way up through our team. We will give all apprentices every possible opportunity and support to reach their maximum potential and help us to strengthen and grow our site or in fact office personnel.”
