Jimmi makes his mark at Paxtons

Jimmi Maidstone joined Paxtons as an apprentice agricultural engineer last year and is proving to be a very popular member of staff.

Jimmi said: “I’m really enjoying everything about my job, but I particularly like working independently and completing tasks that I have learned. I also enjoy going out to farms and servicing the vehicles and meeting new people and I now have a wider circle of friends. I would recommend an apprenticeship as you get paid for gaining experience and qualifications from skilled engineers in a career you really enjoy.”

Neil Tiplady, Group Services Manager at Paxtons, added: “Jimmi has settled very well with us and is popular with all the staff, he has an excellent work ethic and will always try something new when given the opportunity. Following his accident last year, none of us thought he would be back to work as early as he was, which is a credit to him.”

Jimmi showed great initiative to secure his apprenticeship as the company wasn’t recruiting, but he saw an advert for another role and contacted them directly.  Impressing Paxtons with his resourcefulness and positivity, Jimmi was invited for an interview and received fantastic feedback, along with the offer of an apprenticeship!
