ISLA EXCELS IN HER FIRST SELL-OUT SHOW WITH RICHMOND OPERATIC SOCIETY

24 November 2022  |  Jill Lundberg  |  Posted in: ,

We couldn’t resist sharing these fabulous photographs of Isla Henderson, in Year 12, who excelled in her first-ever production with Richmond Operatic Society (ROS).  Isla performed the role of Jenny in the musical ‘Calendar Girls’.  Performing at five sell-out shows in Richmond’s  Georgian Theatre Royal, Isla played her character to perfection – confident and feisty but with a heart of gold.  Isla’s timing was impeccable and she was an absolute joy to watch.  Her singing voice was beautiful and she captivated the audience with her solos. It was wonderful to watch Isla’s character develop, with the great twist at the end when Jenny joins the Women’s Institute!

Isla said: “I’m so pleased with how the performances went. I loved every second working with ROS and it definitely will not be my last show with them! I wish the show would last forever but I’m so glad it went out on a high. I’ve made friends for life during my time with ROS and I really hope I get to act alongside them in the future.”

Suanne Harding, Ros Chair, said: “Isla had a great week and we hope she will return to perform with us again soon!”

ROS have produced their own calendar to raise money for The Sir Robert Ogden Macmillan Centre in Northallerton.  Please email rospublicity@gmail.com to order one.
