HISTORY CLUB STUDENTS CREATE POIGNANT MEMORIALS

10 November 2022  |  Jill Lundberg  |  Posted in:

History club students, from across all year groups in school and college, have created two poignant memorials. They have been working on a project for remembrance for the last six weeks and their work has culminated in a piece that remembers soldiers from Richmond who lost their lives during both World Wars and another that commemorates Queen Elizabeth II.

In addition, the students have compiled some informative slides which have been used by Mrs Mawer, Lead Teacher for History, during this week’s remembrance assembly. You can view the remembrance presentation here.

Miss Ridley, History Teacher who runs the History club, said: “I have been blown away with the outstanding work the students have produced. Their attention to detail and the care they have taken with this project has shown the utmost respect to those who lost their lives during the two World Wars and to Queen Elizabeth II. I am proud to say that the History club has attendance from students in every year group, from 11-year olds to 17-year olds, and watching them collaborate and help each other has been so lovely.”
