Headteacher’s Values Award winners

The Headteacher’s Values Award was presented to  Carla Francisco and Katie Wade, in Year 12.

Carla and Katie were jointly nominated by Ms Mannion, who wrote: “I would like to nominate Carla Francisco and Katie Wade for Excellence, Independence and Resilience. Five students from Year 12 attended the University of York Next Step event – and gave up Saturday to do so! They all did brilliantly, however there were two students who stood out for their contribution and involvement on the day – Katie and Carla. There were 190 students attending from around the UK and there were three university branded teddy bears to be won for student engagement. Two out of the three bears came back to Richmond! Carla and Katie both won awards for engagement and contribution (the teddy bears). This was for presenting to students from lots of other schools, and having the self-confidence and resilience to do this – even using a microphone as the groups were so large.

“I felt so proud of the way they represented Richmond School & Sixth Form College, and they have had a very positive experience of what it would be like to go to university.”
