The Headteacher’s Values Award was presented to Scott Storr, Year 11 student. Scott was nominated by Ms Mannion who said: “I have met with Scott several times since September 2019 to discuss his career aspirations and plans. He is very proactive and always comes to find me to explain his plans and the actions that he is taking. This has included developing a CV, undertaking some additional work experience, and telephoning employers to ask about opportunities. Scott is always extremely polite and has excellent communication skills. He often came to find me at break time or lunch, rather than interrupting his learning and taking time out of lessons.
“Over the half term holiday, Scott attended an interview at Brian Robinson Machinery and they are talking about an apprenticeship for him which would include going to Askham Bryan College for block placements in Land-Based Engineering. Scott has been invited back for more work experience and hopefully the employer will confirm the apprenticeship soon. Scott has demonstrated that through his hard work and determination, it is possible to develop the career that he would like. He is a role model and it would be great to see him receive some recognition. All the best to Scott for his future career.”
